The Importance of Niger to the West
Niger sits right at the centre of the Sahel and shares border with seven other African countries. The country has been a very good ally to the West because they've signed bilateral and multilateral agreements that have helped curb illegal migration through the country. Niger is also a partner to France, the US, and also to other African countries to combat terrorism in the region.
