Womenist Biblical Interpretation

The idea of course is that African-American women aren't newcomers to interpreting the Bible. That this has been ever since there have been Black women reading the Bible. So someone like Jarena Lee would be an example of someone who is reading biblical texts with attention to race and gender. Later scholars look at her as sort of a forerunner of what we see later on in academic biblical studies.
