The Importance of Mermaid Costumes
A week after we record this podcast tonight, Bex Hill on Sea is going to make an attempt for the largest ever gathering of people in mermaid and merman costumes. In 2017 they had a go, and there were 325 people on the beach. This is a thing in the UK too, and it's increasing as well. And actually I think mermaids, like, especially from about the 16th century onwards, they kind of were bad luck. See, I quite like being a dangerous woman who can lure a man to his death. I think bring her back.
