Putin's War in Africa: What's Next?
Putin says Wagner forces are not going to be withdrawn from Africa, where Russia is obviously expanding its influence. If they start definitively losing this war, what's going to happen in places like Mali and the Central African Republic who rely on Bergner troops to put down rebellions? I think Russia can lose a war in Ukraine and still run these weird sort of mercenary armies across across that part of Africa. So, I mean, Wagner is a huge element now of Russia's foreign policy, basically,. It drives a lot of kind of commercial decisions, you know, gold mines and things like that in in West Africa.
