The Barriers to Accessing Eating Disorder Treatment
The biggest barrier is financial. Insurance coverage for eating disorder treatment is very limited, especially if you have Medicaid or state-based non-commercial insurance. Other barriers are just lower quality of care in certain areas and geographic barriers. Most of our eating disorder treatment facilities are either on the west or the east coast or in Colorado.
