Is There a Value in Blockchain?
Blockchain is effectively a very slow database that can be shared between different participants in a trustless way. It just doesn't have many direct applications. The Australian Stock Exchange did a big project for almost eight years to try to rework their back office clearing system using blockchain technology, they spent $150 million. They lit it all on fire. But there's actually been any kind of interest in this stuff. And I used to face the proof is in the pudding. Nobody's really been able to come up with much in the way of applications for this technology after 40 years. Then maybe it's just this quirky thing which probably ignore.
