Introduction
Florence Nightingale was born exactly 200 years ago on May 12, 1820. At age 25 she decided to devote her life to helping people and become a nurse. She became super-intendent at the plush Harley Street in London in 1853. A long way away in Crimea Britain had just ganged up with France and Ottoman Turkey to fight against their mutual enemy the Russians. Thanks to the invention of the Wizztastic Telegraph machine it was the first time war reporters could send their stories back home very quickly. The Crimean War was a total disaster.
