Data Governance Impacts the Choice or Not?

The companies I've worked at with heavy governance lean towards a data warehouse focus. You want to make sure the data you can have an engineering team go in scrub the data clean the data and put them into schemas like the traditional way. Secure those to make sure users only have access to what they should be able to see that they're seeing is. The agreed upon definition by the organization, whereas if you're going to focus on the data lake side you have a lot more of the raw data.
