The Importance of Focus Time as an Engineering Manager
As an engineering manager, you are not really necessarily responsible for doing anymore. And there's somebody that really values that focus time and being able to dive deep on certain subjects. So I'm still very much involved in technical work day to day, but I'm also transitioning to an engineering manager. As I continue to progress towards an engineering manager full time, I would expect my understanding is that that will, that balance of code of coding, if you like, and technical work to more leadership work will switch in favor of the leadership work.
