Adapto Plasticity
Tigsrcis: Adapto plasticity is when an animal or a genotype finds itself in an environment that induces a particular trait, and the induction of that trait is advantageous to it. He says lizards have the capacity to change color and modify the milana fores in their skin to either become darker or lighter. And if you're darker on these dark lava floes, he says, you're more camouflaged and less likely to be picked off by a bird preditor. But tigsrcis argues there has to be variation or in the population for those who are good at getting dark to survive.
