I didn't really have, I guess, silver bullet books. What influenced me was just a great accumulation,. Not just books, but journals of opinion, National Review, commentary, the New Republic, and so on. And reading the newspaper. Bill Buckley adored the New York Times. It would spend two hours a day with it if he could. You know, you just learned so much about the world and about culture and what's out there.
