The left hemisphere doesn't actually have a sense of self, and the right hemisphere is where we do relationships. If we find ourselves in this transactional place then it's very possible that we could find ourselves behaving in ways that are exclusionary. And when we're able to take a deep breath, that breath allows us to reconnect our bodies. It allows us to kind of very gently slide over to the right hemisphere.
