Most of what's proven in quantum computing is rooted completely in the formalismo quantum theory of non relativistic quant mechanics, really. But information theory relies on a specific formalism which we know will somehow have to be modified one way or another. In that sense, i think the one of the aims of thise program and uncaer developing is to find a way of emancipating these results from er the specific details of quantum theory while still retaining allof the information theoretic reach of the results themselves.
