Is Intermittent Fasting Helping With Obesity?

Fasting was quite popular at the turn of the twentieth century. Back then, people would do long fasts, several weeks taking in no food. Many years passed after that, before you and your colleagues began studies of intermittent fasting and rats and mice in the 19 nineties. Andd throughout a lot of my career, the fit focus of the lab was on alsheimer's disease, parkinson's disease and stroke. All of these brain disorders are age related, that is, risk increases with advancing age. Idea was that aging itself predisposes to these diseases. So we asked ta simple question: Would a manipulation that had been shown to counteract aging have an impact on their progression?
