Japan, a Buddhist Nation, Is a Foreign Religion
Buddhism is essentially the entirety of indian culture. They worship gane, staras wati, all hinduo gods and goddesses with japanese names. The magi emperor in the nineteenth century decided that he was going to westernize Japans. He did his best to stamp out buddhism from Japan but it didn't work. So they don't see it as an indigenous religion or indigenous way of life. But it's still very much part of japanese culture,. whatever of it is still practised to day. It's a consequence of the 70 plus years of foreign occupation ofJAPAN.
