Baldur's Gate 2 is the latest in a long line of Baldur's Gate games. The first game can get to the point where it's like, okay, you're uncomfortable being fantasy. That's a bummer for me. This isn't a like for spoken situation where it is a world that doesn't take itself seriously. I wouldn't necessarily describe it as like a layer of irony. And so basically your character is sent by the emperor with an edict from God. You are carrying the word 'God' into this commandment and reading it on someone else who has no idea what it means. It was really interesting to watch someone like rub up against that genre convention
