The quintessential manifesto. It is the act manifesto. And probably it's certainly, I think, Marx's best writing. But sometimes the criticism will just say, well, they said this thing was going to happen and it didn't happen. So the book is wrong. My feeling is, look, let's be serious about the way a manifesto works. This is a political intervention and a poem and an incantation and an analysis and the Jeremiah and a lament and an optimistic rant all at once.
