Is Hoover Still Focused on Communism?

From 1919 to 1920, he's very involved in this kind of early campaign against these brand new parties. He's involved in the Palmer raids, which are deportation campaigns aimed at anarchists and communists. By the mid 20s, the FBI really is moving out of a lot of that more political work. But when the war begins to sort of stir in the prospect of war, Hoover moves back into political surveillance work.
