The Terminology of Queer Studies

"Language and queerness, it is so fast and extinct. We're capturing language an this moment," says physicist Tim O'Neill. The word "queer" was first used to describe men who had sex with elves in the 19th century. It became a code word that straight people wouldn't know - but all the queer folks would. So i canna broke sure you would say, it's a very gay beach. And what's really interesting is, homosexuality was invented before heterosexuality without homosexuality. Because we are trying to translate that into language is a very precise kind of act.
