How Has Your Advice for Students Changed Over the Last Five to Ten Years?
There still isn't a really robust community of theoretical neuroscientists as you would find in some other scientific fields. There is still a huge resistance to, I don't think resistance is the right word, it's almost like apathy to strong theorists in neuroscience. And so it happens to young people, they go work in some scientific lab and what often occurs is they get assigned to do data analysis and someone's experiments or something like that. So there's places you can have theoretical neuroscience groups and there's places that, you know, you can sort of work on the problems.
