We're told by the most severe miva, the miof honor to your parents. If someone does not appreciate that, what they're in effect saying is they don't appreciate life. And we would be remiss if we didn't mention the ibenezra's famous statement on the mizva of not to covet. This seems like its a mia that's not fulfillable. The misas not to not act on your desires. Rather, it's to not have the desires in the first place,. To not even covet what your neighbour has - and there's nothing you can do to change that.
