A lot of asia had bought into the promises, the high minded sentiments from the first world war about self determination and all these things that we fight for. The japanese didn't have those theories theoretically standing in the way,. They could have freed asia. But because of their racial theories and their harshness and what not, they ended up turning a lot of those people against them. Once again, it boggles the mind looking at it from the right perspective.
