"I don't even like to take pictures. I hate the lousy thing," a Chinese guide told Martin Scorsese's crew. "So once more, he cried, me? Oh, take my film. Take the camera. You'll see." A China reunion was held in New York three months later and it brought back memories of his work with kids on the Lower East Side. He recalls how one boy from Brooklyn would climb giant playgrounds while others were working around him.
