The Importance of Seeing Small Molecules
I'm amazed at how these things evolve that accomplish the job they do. How did you take 20 amino acids and build all these different machines that do what they do? It's really quite amazing actually. So it fascinates me to think that if we understand molecules very well, that we can build bigger and bigger things through the same rules of self assembly that have evolved to permit organisms like any life formed to exist. I mean, because there's not some grand conductor making us what we are. Everything ultimately is chemistry.
