The Politics of Peaking
In 2008, Barack Obama did not lead Hillary Clinton in any poll nationally until he won Iowa. The first state for the Republican primary is still an open question and a place where Tim Scott or Nikki Haley could gain momentum if they court voters. This issue of peaking you mentioned makes me think back to lots of different examples of politicians seeming to have peaked.
