The 48 Megapixel iPhone Camera Is a Great Camera for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 Plus

Apple's marketing has been away from megapixel wars for years and years. Even if you do want to shoot raw to do all that your development and editing with the raw image you could still shoot it as 12 megapixels but anyway what I've seen in the reviews Jason Snell's review Mark Spoonhour at Tom's Guide had a good review of side-by-side images. It does seem like there's a lot of detail that the 48 megapixel sensor is capable of in a lot of lightlike so that pixel binning makes the most sense in low light or even medium light.
