What Is the Difference Between Defensivists and Defeatists?

In the cialist community, most socialists in europe and most socialists in russia were defensivists. They believed that on a moral level, an emotional level, a practical level and a strategic level, it was good to help your country win the war. This is how you get all those socialist leaders pledging to band strikes and promising keep war industries rolling. And this takes us into a question that i have alluded to a number of times, but have not yet explained fully: what is the distinction between defeatists anddefensivists?
