Is There a Science of Consciousness?
In the future maybe there will be a science of consciousness and possibly therefore we will be able to test hypothesis like panpsychism. How do you see the kind of testability of that working out? One thing I'm thinking a lot about at the moment is my increasing attraction to the strong emergentist view that there are new entities and properties at the neurophysiological level. If that turns out to be the case, then I think this does actually point a way forward in the science of consciousness.
