Doing the Hardest Thing First Really Works
When you're wasting too much time going back and forth about things that maybe don't matter. Making my rubrics have clear thresholds. If I reduce the number of levels on the rubric or the number of points, each item is worth. So if one item on an assignment is worth four points and I'm giving half points, I am choosing from nine different levels, zero to four. There are fewer options to choose from because I can be more confident in assessing students all at once.
