The History of the Hallway
The word hallway comes from the word hall, which originally is basically referring to a large building. Back in the day, a house was just one room, a hall. And then we gradually had more and more rooms attached to the outside. So now it's not for schedule, but there's still this little hall in the middle of the house that used to be the whole house.
