Loki: A Guide to Sharding Data Effectively

Loki works by taking streams and charting them horizontally across compute resources. The goal should always be to kind of think of labels as sort of an intuitive way to find your logs, so good labels are things that would come to mind. There's some work underway for us to see if we can ideally want to increase the index in our experience from 2 or 300,000 per day to millions a day. This is very popular stuff; I've been trying to figure out how to organize my life a little bit better.
