Romance Languages - The First Full Text
The first full text that we see that looks recognizably like a romance language, and not latin with up dated pronunciation is called the strasburg oaths. This was the separation point between mediaeval latin, the latin of the church and beyond, and the romance languages. I'm going to read a select to you so you can get a sense for what this emerging romance language sounded like. But it's going to sound a little weird. Give it a listen.
