The T Cell-Mediated Response to Irusia
The allergic contact dermatitis caused by Irusia is a type four hypersensitivity reaction. The first time that you're exposed to poison ivy oils, the catacalls, which are part of that Irusia compound, they bind to and penetrate through your skin cells. These are often called Langerhans cells. And their job is to internalize antigens, process them, and then travel back to our lymph nodes and present those antigens to T cells.
