Catalonia - The Socialist Revolution of the 1930s
After 19 29, the depression throws spanish politics into severe crisis. A and in this sort of a no crisis and chaos and uncertainty of the early thirties, the catalan separatists reorganized. They reformed a new ralitat, and they supported the declaration of a republic in spain in april 19 31. And one of the pillars supporting this new republic was catalona. This kind of growing working class radicalism actually, 19 tens, 19 twenties, it drove much of the middle class and business class towards centralism,. It sort hof drove them away from catalan separatism which they increasingly saw as too radical and dangerous.
