The Origins of Yennidunya in Turkey

In Turkish, that word was from Yennidunya, which means new world. The Ottomans wrote it with a cap that has three dots on it. So if someone who does not know Turkish is reading it, he would read it as YennidUnya,. And through folk atomology, as in trying to change a bit of the word to fit a certain idea of what it should be, it would have become from Yekidinya to Iskidinya, meaning old world. But in the end, it all goes back to it's a Turkish word that mean new world.
