Hitchins is a prominent atheist, so it makes sense that he kind of sees it as a fight against theocracy. All hitchins can see is that, like moslem extremists are scary and they want to hurt him. As an atheist, religion is doing things that hurt me, so i must destroy the people who believe in them. It's interesting because everybody, all the people who are kind of on the side of this civic religion, whichis why they're responding, find different ways to justify it.
