A lot of runoff was contained on site, but there were definitely releases into the river. The problem here is that these chemicals are unfortunately resident in the environment at certain concentrations. Hans says another important step forward is to put into place regulations that should have been there from the start. Rebuilding trust is hard, not impossible; it depends on the choices we make and how we communicate with people.
