Can You Research Marijuana?
Marijuana is classified as a Schedule 1 substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Until very recently, there was only one source in the United States that was allowed at the federal level to cultivate and produce marijuana. The University of Mississippi provided the study drug for all U.S. marijuana studies since 1970. In 2021, the Drug Enforcement Administration granted licenses to additional growers and cultivators.
