If you're convinced, like the Stoics are, that happiness must be attainable, then you don't have to pretend, if you know about the afterlife, that it is attainable in the afterlife, perfect happiness. That's the whole point of something being intrinsically evil and intrinsic evil is something that can't be justified by any possible result.
