The Dead Marshes and the Approaches to the Moranin

i recently completed narration of an audio book on world war one, the great war, 19 14 19 18, by hilary brown. i grew very familiar with descriptions of the trenches and no man's land on the western front. Dank water and mud often filled them. Rat infestations were commonplace, leading to trench fever and other diseases caused by parasites transmitted by lice. A soldier might spend two months in a front line trench before being recalled to a reserve trench.
