Batai: We're each living in a horizon bounded by a different utopia, whether it's the Christian apocalypse or the progressive notion of sustainability. He wants to get away from the messianic futurism as well as the rational progressive utopianism that we get either politically or technologically in terms of sustainability. Batai: Thinking about how we live is a problem that we've had for 10,000 years, not for 400 years. So thinking about these temporalities, I think, is part of what we need to do.
