The Importance of Set Design in Filmmaking
As a child, I was always interested in buildings and architecture and rooms. The films I saw just sort of inflamed that and made me even more interested. When I went to USC for my master's degree, I wanted to make a film about Venice. My teachers at USC said, well, I guess you can do that. They didn't seem all that excited though. It would still seem strange to me.
