Corsair's are often called air quotes legal pirates and that's not entirely true. In the case of the Maltese Corsair's, it was going to the Vatican. So they also did do actual trade. They might have been like, yeah, this load of pottery is going to fetch a pretty penny. And, you know, sunken treasure. Or was that an actual thing where their banks were like in the hole? I wish I knew more about pirates and whatnot. What's a Corsair?
