Carbon Offsets
Carbon offsets are a trade off of uncertain future reductions in exchange for certain present emissions. Almost nowhere can you say that youare actually preventing the types of omissions that you are amitting. As time goes on, this already incredibly unreliable scheme becomes less reliable and less meaningful. And we have to take that into account when these companies make these pledges.
