It is very likely they would value life and ecological diversity, even if they are genocidal to potential competitors. They may simply show up with one ship that runs a few circles around the planet dropping off different types of genetically engineered plagues. It might actively monitor and prevent forest fires or invasive species or other ecological problems. Or it might toast everything and build giant reactors and data storage pyramids on the glass-to-ver lifeless ruins of this planet.
