The Evolution of Sterilization
Under eugenicist ideology and policies, there were tens of thousands of people who were sterilized under compulsory sterilization laws. Initially, these were primarily white people but then spread to Latino women, indigenous women, black women, and also men through various government policies. It's a reflection of this shift from targeting mostly impoverished white people and white people with disabilities to targeting mostly people of color.
