Phil Agnew: Spending your money won't guarantee happiness. That is simply not how it works. If you're unhappy and you're trying to spend your way out of your emotional rut, then you'll probably end up in a worse place. This is because paying for things can genuinely hurt us. Thinking about price causes pain. Rather than asking ourselves what's the worst thing to spend money on, maybe we should ask ourselves, should we spend this money at all?
