The History of Hebrew
In the 1880s there was essentially one native fluent speaker of Hebrew. Benyahuda's wife, Devorah, died of tuberculosis in 1891; he married her sister Paula six months later. After his death in 1922, it failed the hemda to finish his work on the Hebrew dictionary. The Academy of Hebrew Language still exists today and invents around 2000 new words every year.
