The Effects of Spinal Fluid on Eye Pressure
Many astronauts have permanent damage to their eyesight that lasts for the rest of their lives even after they've come back from their flights. It's interesting because your eyes, they just experience the brain fluid pressure that everyone experiences when they lie down flat. The idea there is that when you look at the veins in the retina, small blood vessels, you see the pulse. And it's your heart being dead, is visible. If the pressure from the brain onto the back of the eye increases, that pulsation can slightly change. There are more interesting effects as well, the speed at which waves propagate through these vessels can also be affected.
