The Making of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans

The building of the Ottoman Empire as a state and as a society was a group effort. It was made up of people who were certainly, you know, trigger speaking nomads,. Bulgarian vessels, Albanian vessels. And it seems to feed back into this other thread that you describe associated with the group Turkish Hearth. The idea is appealing in that it tells a story which is most certainly rooted in history but also makes sense as a contemporary identity.
